The Heartbreaker – An official Blogspot dedicated to you, the prospective AND current student of the University of Maastricht.
Report is given on the first-year experiences of an Arts and Culture freshman. Feel free to comment, review and chit-chat it to your friends.
This week, again, did start out with an experience I`d rather wished not to be involved in. Things honestly begin getting nasty at home, something needs to change. If it comes to an objective viewpoint on particularly stressing situations, my friends really help me out. For the sake of the Blog`s authenticity, I decided to give report on EVERY aspect of my life, for the better or worse. Finally, since this issue does undoubtedly display a huge constraint for me at the moment, I do not want to prevent problematical things from being adressed, but instead necessarily feel the need to discuss it within my Blogposts as well.
On Tuesday, me and two fellow students spent a truly unforgetable night at the “Open Mic”, organized by the University College Maastricht. Videos of selected artists are listed below, you inevitably feel inspired by these amazingly talented students performing songs most important to them, isn`t it? All of us really had a great time and ended the evening with a glass of wine.
To give you an impression, here some snippets of performances staged:
Over the weekend, I went back home by train to Germany for the first time since beginning my studies. The main reason to do so,in any case, was of rather “official” nature : my mother`s 60th birthday, framed by means of a guided tour through the historic castle of Heidelberg which all friends and relatives attended.
Final reunion It was nice seeing an old friend again- with Rosemarie, I went to school together, she now still lives in Heidelberg while I moved away due to my studies. Again, with red wine you`re hardly able doing anything wrong. Now being back in Maastricht, 2 weeks to go until the exams.
The air gets thicker…
